Uttarakhand Madrasa Board Chairman Mufti Shamoon Qazmi, who reached an Arabic Madrasa in Mangalore, Roorkee, said very boldly that such Madrasas in which donations are sought from children, now such Madrasas will not be spared. Uttarakhand Madrasa Board has taken this matter seriously, now along with filing a case against such Madrasa managers, their recognition will also be cancelled. On reaching the Arabic Madrasa, Mufti Shamun Qazmi was given a rousing welcome with flower garlands. On this occasion, Mufti Shamun said that the Madrasa Board is making the Arabic Madrasas hi-tech. Along with Arabic and Urdu, studies of Hindi, English and Science have also been started in the Madrasas. NCERT course is being taught continuously. Now the Madrasa students will be able to acquire modern education along with religious education. Mufti Shamun said that the Arabic Madrasas in Uttarakhand are getting more facilities than before and the children of Arabic Madrasas will now also join the mainstream of development. He said that efforts should be made to promote the message of humanity and brotherhood given by the Prophet of Allah to the entire world. There is no mention of hatred anywhere in Islam, therefore the students have to always give their important contribution to the country and state with mutual brotherhood and harmony. Mufti Shamun Qazmi appealed to the students and said that students are the future of this country, they should make an important contribution in the development of their country and state by getting educated. He said that a lot of work still needs to be done in Madrasas so that the children of Madrasas do not lag behind in any competition.

    Dehradun: Amidst growing intimidation and public threats to minority Muslims in the Uttarakhand hills and public boards put up banning the entry of non-Hindus/Rohingya Muslims, two Muslim delegations met Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Abhinav Kumar on Thursday. The delegation apprised Kumar about the grave communal situation prevailing in Garhwal hills, particularly at Nandghat and Gopeshwar in Chamoli district, and sought police protection for the minuscule minority population living there.

    A delegation of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by its Uttarakhand state unit president Nayyer Kazmi, along with victims of Nandghat violence, met the DGP and expressed concern over the violence perpetuated by Right- wing Hindutva groups in which shops and business establishments run by Muslims were attacked, ransacked and looted. Some of the Muslims were badly beaten up and their mosque at Nandghat ransacked and damaged, the alleged.

    Another delegation of Muslim Sewa Sangathan, led by Dehradun Shahr Qazi Maulana Mohammad Ahmad Qasmi, submit a memorandum regarding the increasing number of cases targeting the Muslim population, particularly in the hills of Garhwal and Kumaon.

    Trouble began in Nandghat market near Nandprayag in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on Sunday following allegations of eve-teasing and making indecent gestures at a minor girl by a Muslim youth who ran a barber shop in the area. The father of the minor girl had lodged a complaint with the police a few days ago as the alleged accused had absconded. Later, an irate mob of Hindutva groups, raising provocative slogans against the Muslim community, allegedly attacked, ransacked and looted at least seven shops owned by Muslims. They allegedly also damaged a makeshift mosque where Muslims used to pray, as well as damaged some vehicles owned by Muslims. The alleged accused Arif Khan had already been arrested by the police from Bijnore.

    Some of the victims of Nandghat violence who were beaten up, told the DGP that they were shopkeepers and were part of the protest against eve-teasing, yet they were identified and bashed up after their shops were broken open and looted,

    The delegation, as per sources, also apprised the DGP that some Muslims were residing in the area for the past over five decades and had to flee with their families to save their lives.

    They alleged that similar processions with provocative slogans were also taken out at Gopeshwar town, the district headquarters on Tuesday. The police has imposed prohibitory orders in Nandghat and has registered cases against 500 unidentified persons for the Nandghat violence.

    The Muslim delegations also told DGP that Darshan Bharati, a known rabble-rouser Hindutva leader, known for his anti-Muslim hate speeches, was allowed to hold meetings “further vitiating” the already tense atmosphere in the area.

    The delegations also apprised the DGP about public boards, allegedly put up by Hindutva groups, against the entry of non-Hindus/Rohingya Muslims for doing any business in Rudraprayag district, adding that this was “completely unlawful and against the Constitution of the country.”  

    The delegations also flagged that of late, petty issues or any alleged criminal or anti-social activity by any Muslim, were followed by processions by Hindutva organisations targeting the entire Muslim community in various towns and cities in the hills.

    The Uttarakhand police chief was told that since 2017, there had been several such cases where minority Muslim community had been targeted on trivial issues and forced to leave. The delegations cited incidents in Chauras in Kirtinagar block of Tehri Garhwal, where nearly 10 Muslims engaged in small businesses were forced to leave on a flimsy ground of ‘Love Jehad’ last month. In June 2023 Muslims were targeted in Purola on similar grounds. The ‘love jehad’ did not stand judicial scrutiny in the court of law and was found to be baseless, the said.

    The two Muslim delegations alleged planned attempts bordering on ‘Islamophobia’ to “harass, humiliate and threaten Muslims with an evil and unlawful design of ethnic cleansing.”

    “Despite the communal politics of the times, we understand and believe that the officers of the country, particularly of all India services, have a constitutional responsibility to uphold the rule of law by standing up with the poor, marginalised, deprived and minorities in the country,” a member of the delegation said, adding that the DGP assured them of action.

    After the meeting, Nayeem Quaraishi of Muslim Sewa Sanghathan said his organisation would be holding a prèss conference on the issue in Dehradun on Friday.

                          Dehradun. The third talent award ceremony was organized by ‘Dayaitva’ Foundation, in which about 265 high school and intermediate students were honored. At the same time, the candidates who got government jobs this year were honored.

    Hundreds of devotees took darshan of the “Bal Mubarak” of Mohammad Sahib’s beard along with Kalma and Darood Sharif and prayed for peace and security in the country.

    Qazi Jamal told that this holy child Mubarak has been in his family for about 750 years, whose Ziyarat has been happening continuously since then without any stop.
    International poet and writer Afzal Mangalori told that according to the “Shahnama” of historian ‘Firdausi’, the granddaughter of the ninth Sultan of the Delhi Sultanate dynasty, Ghiyasuddin Balban (1266-1284), was married in the Kazmi family, the landlord of Mangalore, as a gift.     Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi said that organizing the National Games is a golden opportunity to establish Uttarakhand as a world class host of green sports and green tourism. In all the religions, the system of giving share in property to the daughters according to the religious traditions was going on for centuries, which did not have any legal form, the mother could do it as per her convenience. The father handed over his rights to the girl. Giving legal form to 50 per cent stake in UCC will lead to disintegration of the social fabric. An example of this is the way in which sons-in-law generally view the in-laws’ property. Due to its legal nature, many things will create disputes and divorce cases will come up in the state. From this point of view, this law will not be favorable to any society and religion.
    Yakub Siddiqui, convenor of Numainda Group Uttarakhand, said that in the same state, there is polyandry system among the people of tribal community and open marriage is prevalent among Tharu-Boxer, from this point of view it is not justified to bring a particular community within the ambit of the law. Muslim women are given four months time for Iddat, there are many religious and social aspects of it which need to be studied in depth. To say that this is oppression on women is consistently wrong and devoid of logic. Justice Ranjana Desai Committee organized camps regarding this law in all the districts of Uttarakhand in which suggestions were sought. More than 2 lakh forms were received by the committee in which 172000 forms mentioned the non-enactment of this law and its shortcomings. to be done. Despite this, the committee gave consent to the Chief Minister to make a law, which was approved by the Cabinet. This law is being made on double standards which we protested on the streets and this protest will continue. We will not allow the federal structure of the country to be ruined at any cost.

     Dehradun – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the annual calendar “Strong Leadership, Prosperous Uttarakhand” of the Information and Public Relations Department, Uttarakhand at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday. Through this annual calendar, major religious and tourist places, local products, natural beauty, mythological places of all 13 districts of Uttarakhand were shown through pictures. Through the annual calendar, efforts were made to attract people’s attention towards the state’s tourism policy, solar energy policy, empowered women-rich state, sensitivity towards youth and the work done by the government for investment-employment-prosperity.

     On this occasion, in a high-level meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officials to speed up the work to implement the nine resolutions given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the state level. Continuous efforts should be made towards water conservation and awareness campaigns should also be conducted for this.     Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave appointment letters to the assistant accountants of Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation and Higher Education Department selected through Uttarakhand Public Service Commission at the Chief Minister’s residence. Appointment letters were given to 88 assistant accountants in the Forest Development Corporation and 08 assistant accountants in the Higher Education Department on Saturday.

    While congratulating all the selected Assistant Accountants, the Chief Minister said that they should work by maintaining a regular routine right from the beginning of their work. When we do any work with honesty, duty and in public interest, it gives us self-satisfaction. He said that by the grace of God you have got the opportunity to serve the public.     Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given the gift of dearness allowance to the state employees. Government employees of the state will now get 46 percent dearness allowance by increasing the existing dearness allowance by 4 percent. Along with this, pensioners of the state will also get the benefit of four percent increased dearness allowance.

    After the consent of Chief Minister Dhami, a government order in this regard has been issued by the government. It has been said in the government order that the arrears of revised dearness allowance from July 01, 2023 to December 31, 2023 will be paid in cash. From January 01, 2024, dearness allowance will be paid along with the regular salary but the pension contribution of the employees covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme will be deposited in the account related to the new pension scheme along with the employer’s share and the remaining amount will be paid in cash. Subject to the above mentioned conditions and previously mentioned conditions/restrictions, the above approved dearness allowance will also be admissible to All India Service officers working under the state of Uttarakhand.
