International poet Afzal Mangalori will be honored in Dubai and Sharjah

Roorkee. Former Vice President of Uttarakhand Urdu Academy and International poet Afzal Mangalori will be honored in Dubai and Sharjah. Afzal Mangalori will participate in the International Mushaira in UAE on 23rd and 25th August. He will participate in the Mushaira in Bazme Azamgarh, Sharjah on 23rd August and in Dubai on 25th August. According to Musharraf Ali Khan, Chairman of Dubai’s McQuay Group and Secretary of Bazme Azamgarh, Afzal Mangalori will be honored in Dubai on 25th August on behalf of McQuay Group and New Tech Groups Dubai. It is known that since 1998, Mangalori has been representing India in countries like Dubai, Sharjah, Doha Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Pakistan, Mauritius etc. Last month, Afzal Mangalori was also honored with Nepal Nishane Urdu Samman by Nepal Sahitya Academy.

Tribute paid to senior journalist Firoz Akhtar on his first death anniversary

Mangalore (Akil Ahmed) On the occasion of the first death anniversary of senior journalist Dr. Firoz Akhtar, who was a man of simple nature, local journalists, social organizations and his family paid him emotional tribute at his residence on Monday.

Last year, senior journalist Firoz Akhtar died after a long illness in a hospital in Dehradun. On the occasion of his first death anniversary, journalists and local people of Mangalore organized a memorial meeting. In which his life, works and his dedication towards the society were remembered. A tribute meeting was organized at his residence in Mohalla Pathanpura, Mangalore. Dr. Akhtar was not only a skilled journalist, but also a courageous personality who raised the voice of the weaker sections of the society. His writings always reflected truth and impartiality, which established him as a respected journalist in Mangalore and surrounding areas. Dr. Firoz Akhtar was a well-known name in the journalism world of Mangalore. He worked for many newspapers and magazines in his life and was known for his frank opinion on social issues. His writings focused on topics like social problems, education, health and community development. Remembering his father, his son Hussain Akhtar said, father always inspired us to follow the path of truth and hard work. On his death anniversary, we pledge to follow the path shown by him. On this occasion, journalists Mukesh Goyal, Aqeel Ahmed, Arvind Goyal, Rais Ahmed, Shamim Ahmed along with Hasnain Zaidi, Sibte, Hussain Akhtar and others were present.

Minority Education Authority will be formed in Uttarakhand

Dehradun – For the first time in the state, a Minority Education Authority will be formed for the recognition of minority educational institutions. For this, the cabinet has approved the introduction of the Uttarakhand Minority Educational Institutions Act Amendment Bill in the Assembly. In the proposed bill, Muslim, Sikh, Jain, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi minority educational institutions will have to get recognition from the authority.

Five proposals were approved in the cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the Secretariat on Sunday. A decision was taken in the cabinet to introduce several bills in the monsoon session starting from August 19 in Bhararisain Assembly of summer capital Gairsain.

The Uttarakhand Minority Educational Institutions Act 2025 Amendment Bill will also be tabled in the Assembly. In this bill, an authority will be constituted for the recognition of minority institutions.

After the amendment, when the Act comes into force, Gurumukhi and Pali languages can be studied in recognized minority educational institutions. Apart from this, Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board Act 2016, Uttarakhand Non-Government Arabic and Persian Madrasa Recognition Rules 2019 will be repealed from July 1, 2026.

Main features of the Act

1 – Formation of Authority – Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority will be constituted in the state, which will provide the status of minority educational institution.

2 – Mandatory recognition – Any educational institution established by Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain or Parsi community will be required to obtain recognition from the authority to get the status of minority educational institution.

3 – Protection of institutional rights – The Act will not interfere in the establishment and operation of minority educational institutions, but will ensure that the quality and excellence of education is maintained.

4 – Mandatory conditions – To get recognition, the educational institution must be registered under the Society Act, Trust Act or Company Act. Land, bank accounts and other assets should be in the name of the institution. Recognition can be withdrawn in case of financial irregularities, lack of transparency or activities against religious and social harmony.

5 – Monitoring and Examination – The authority will ensure that education is provided as per the standards set by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education and the evaluation of students is fair and transparent.

Effect of the Act

• Educational institutions of minority communities in the state will now get recognition through a transparent process.

• Along with the quality of education, the constitutional rights of minorities will also be protected.

• The state government will have the power to monitor the functioning of the institutions and issue necessary instructions from time to time.

A police officer whose work is being discussed everywhere

Mangalore. Kavad Yatra has been completed safely. During Kavad Yatra, crores of Shiv devotees come to Haridwar to collect water. It remains a challenge for the police administration to handle such a large number of Shiv devotees. But this time the way the police administration conducted the Kavad Yatra under the leadership of Haridwar SSP Parmendra Singh Dobhal will be remembered for years. The Haridwar police administration conducted the Kavad Yatra with strength and devotion. Rural SP Shekhar Chand Suyal remained on duty day and night. Haridwar Police distributed prasad to the Shiv devotees and also took strict action against some miscreants. Talking about Mangalore, during Kavad Yatra, crores of Shiv devotees pass through the Mangalore Highway. This time the action taken by the police administration regarding DJ is commendable. The work of Mangalore police officers, constables, home guards, PRD jawans and SPOs was commendable but there are some officers who leave their mark. We are talking about Mangalore Circle Officer Vivek Kumar who performed his duty responsibly in Mangalore, Bhagwanpur, Jhabreda, Narsan during the Kavad Yatra day and night, rain or sunshine. Under the leadership of Mangalore Circle Officer Vivek Kumar, Mangalore Police took action regarding the length and width of DJs coming to Uttarakhand. Due to which the traffic on the highway could run smoothly and there was no problem of jam and the Kavad Yatra could be completed peacefully. This is being discussed from Uttarakhand to Uttar Pradesh.

Five Muslim SPOs assisted the police during the entire Kanwar Yatra

Mangalore (Akil Ahmed) Kanwar Yatra has been completed safely. Haridwar Police has played an important role in ensuring the successful completion of the Kanwar Yatra. Haridwar Police had to work hard to ensure smooth conduct of the Kanwar Yatra. At the Mangalore bus stand, be it rain or scorching heat, during the entire Kanwar Yatra, five Muslim Special Police Officers (SPO) from Mangalore were seen continuously assisting the police with batons in their hands to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Although they are not paid any honorarium by the government or the police department, yet every year these people are constantly engaged in assisting the police from the beginning of the Kanwar Yatra to its end.

Among these SPOs, Dr. Moin, Mohammad Salman, Mohammad Nadeem, Wahid, and Shamim were seen continuously performing their duties at the Mangalore bus stand. These people say that even though they do not get any money for their hard work, after the Kanwar Yatra is over they feel happy that they have done the responsibility given to them by the police very well. When they are honored by the police, it is a big reward for them.

Srimahant Ravindrapuri Maharaj’s spirit of service is commendable, Nadeem Ahmed

Haridwar – District Information Officer Nadeem Ahmed paid a courtesy visit to Akhada Parishad President Shrimahant Ravindrapuri Maharaj and expressed gratitude for the administration’s support in the Kanwad fair. During the meeting at Charan Paduka Temple, Shrimahant Ravindrapuri Maharaj blessed the District Information Officer. Haridwar – District Magistrate Mayur Dixit today did a surprise inspection of City Magistrate Office, District Information Office and Sub Treasury located in old Tehsil Devpuram and got information about the work being done in these offices.

During the inspection of City Magistrate Office, the District Magistrate inspected all the desks and instructed all the desk assistants that all the files should be maintained properly and the work and problems of the common people coming to the City Magistrate Office with their work and problems should be resolved promptly.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate got information about the pending cases in the City Magistrate Office and instructed the City Magistrate to ensure that all the old pending cases are resolved on priority.

While inspecting the district information work, the District Magistrate has instructed the District Information Officer to establish better coordination with the press representatives and to widely publicize the public welfare schemes run by the Central and State Government through the administration.

The District Magistrate also inspected the sub-treasury and took information about the work done in the treasury, he has instructed the Assistant Treasury Officer to promptly resolve the work of the common people coming to the sub-treasury.
