Former MLA Pranav Champion Again in Controversy; Accused of Casteist Remarks, Abuse and Threats

Former Khanpur MLA Pranav Champion has once again landed in controversy after serious allegations of using abusive language, making casteist remarks, and issuing death threats over a phone call. Following a written complaint submitted at Laksar Police Station, police have initiated an inquiry into the matter.

According to the complaint filed by Jogendra Kumar, a resident of Shantarshah village in Bahadrabad, the incident traces back to the night of June 22, when his brother-in-law Sanjeev Kumar was returning home from a wedding ceremony. It is alleged that near a factory in the Laksar area, a vehicle dangerously overtook their car and attempted to hit it before speeding away. Later, they were informed that the vehicle was allegedly linked to former MLA Pranav Champion.

The complaint further states that on the following day, Sanjeev Kumar received a call from the police station. During subsequent communication through a known person’s mobile phone, a conversation allegedly took place with Pranav Champion. The complainant has accused the former MLA of using abusive language, making caste-based derogatory remarks, and threatening serious consequences.

The complainant also alleged that objectionable comments were made against women members of the family, leaving the family frightened and under severe mental stress. The family has demanded strict legal action and registration of a criminal case.

In the complaint, the family expressed concern that due to the political influence of the accused, they feel unsafe and fear possible repercussions.

Police Begin Investigation

Laksar Police confirmed that a written complaint has been received and that an investigation is underway. Officials stated that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
