Jamiat Helps Rebuild Roof for Three Orphaned Children in Vikasnagar, Fulfils Its Promise Vikasnagar 

Vikasnagar, September 26: Three orphaned children in Bhimawala village, who had been forced to live under the open sky after their house collapsed during heavy rains, have received a ray of hope after Jamiat Ulama-e-Uttarakhand, with the support of local community members, completed the construction of their house roof.

The children — Sohel Malik, Mohammad Salman and Israel — lost the roof over their heads when their kutcha house collapsed on August 5, 2026, following continuous heavy rainfall. All three children had already lost their parents and were left without a safe shelter.

After receiving information about the incident, a team of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Uttarakhand, visited the spot on August 7 and assessed the situation. After seeing the difficult circumstances faced by the children, the Jamiat team assured them of all possible assistance and promised to support the reconstruction of the house and arrange for the roof to be built.

On September 26, the Jamiat team returned to Bhimawala village along with community supporters and completed the roof construction work.

With the roof now in place, the children are hopeful of getting a safe and secure home. Local residents appreciated the initiative and the humanitarian efforts of the Jamiat, saying that while government assistance was taking time, the organisation stepped forward to support the children.

Muhammad Shah Nazar, Media In-charge and spokesperson of Jamiat Ulama-e-Uttarakhand, said that the organisation’s team had visited the site after receiving information about the house collapse. At that time, the children were assured that their roof would be rebuilt, and the promise has now been fulfilled with the support of members of the community.

He said that Jamiat has been continuously involved in social welfare, disaster relief and assistance for poor and orphaned people, and would continue such humanitarian initiatives in the future.

According to Shah Nazar, Jamiat has undertaken various welfare activities across Uttarakhand, including assistance to disaster victims, distribution of blankets and ration to needy families, and educational support.

Recently, a special camp related to the Umeed Portal for registration of Waqf properties was also organised at Madrasa Dar-e-Arqam in Dehradun.

Members of the Jamiat delegation present on the occasion included Qari Abid, General Secretary of the Dehradun District Unit; Mufti Ayaz Ahmad, President of Dehradun City Unit; Master Abdul Sattar, District Treasurer; Maulana Abdul Khaliq, General Secretary of the Vikasnagar Unit; Qari Farid, Maulana Rehan Ghani and Maulana Zeeshan, along with other members.
