Gold medalists enhance the institute’s prestige

Dehradun. As part of National Pharmacist Week 2025, Keshrichand Subharti Institute of Pharmacy, part of Rash Behari Bose Subharti University, organized a grand event on November 21, 2025, themed “Pharmacists as Advocates of Vaccination.” A large number of pharmacy students, faculty, and experts enthusiastically participated in the event, and discussions focused on the role of pharmacists in vaccination, their contribution to community health, drug safety awareness, and modern pharmacy practice.
University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Himanshu Aeran, who was a special guest at the event, shared important insights on the changing landscape of pharmacy education in his inspiring address. He specifically emphasized the need to bridge the gap between the pharmacy education system and the pharmaceutical industry, emphasizing that students must now move beyond “bookish knowledge” and acquire real, industry-based skills. He emphasized that the university’s goal is to prepare qualified, responsible, and practical pharmacists who can not only strengthen healthcare services but also spread drug awareness in society.

In his address, Dr. Aaron elaborated on the types of medications patients should take with medical advice and which medications, if taken uncontrolled or without advice, can pose serious health risks. He emphasized the need to raise awareness about “quality medicine,” “rational use of drugs,” and the dangers associated with self-medication. His words not only inspired the students but also made all the experts and faculty present realize the social responsibility of the pharmacy profession.
Distinguished speakers Dr. Prashant Kumar Bhatnagar and Dr. Subodh Bhardwaj presented their valuable insights on the changing global landscape of pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr. Bhatnagar highlighted new research opportunities in the pharmacy field, nano-drug delivery modules, emerging technologies, and modern drug development methods.
Dr. Subodh Bhardwaj explained that the pharmacist of the future will not only be a practitioner of medicine but also a key pillar of patient-centered services.
A ceremony for academic excellence was also held during the program, where two talented students were awarded gold medals. Sameer Ali (D. Pharm – 2021–23) was honored for his outstanding academic achievements, discipline, and persistent hard work. Tejaswi Tripathi (D. Pharm – 2022–24) was awarded the gold medal for his best performance in his batch, strong scientific foundation, and outstanding results. The honoring of both students heightened the atmosphere of excitement at the event, and a sense of pride pervaded the faculty and classmates.

University Registrar Mr. Khalid Hasan was also present on the occasion. He expressed his delight at the grandeur of the event and the enthusiasm of the students. In addition, the Principal and Dean of the Institute, Dr. Lokesh Tyagi, Administrative Officer Dr. Ravindra Pratap, Head of Department Mrs. Richa Pundir, along with all the faculty, non-teaching staff, and a large number of students were present. All actively contributed to the success of the event.
