Dr. Kshemendra Gupta, a distinguished physician, educationist, and social worker, passed away on Saturday, August 1, at around 5:00 PM. His demise has been widely mourned across the medical, academic, and social service communities.

Dr. Gupta was the father of Prof. Dr. Himanshu Airan, Full-Time Member of the Dental Assessment & Rating Board of the National Dental Commission, Government of India, and former Vice-Chancellor of Subharti University, Dehradun.

A native of Haldaur in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Gupta dedicated decades of his life to serving people as a respected medical practitioner in Haldaur and Meerut. He was also the father of renowned physician Dr. Preeti Vishnoi and father-in-law of Dr. Anurag Vishnoi, who runs Vishnoi Clinic.

Throughout his career, Dr. Gupta was known not only for his medical expertise but also for his deep commitment to humanitarian causes. His contributions to cataract treatment, polio eradication campaigns, and public health awareness positively impacted thousands of people. His legacy of service continues through his family. Dr. Preeti Vishnoi has facilitated more than 10,000 free cataract surgeries through eye-care camps, while Prof. Dr. Himanshu Airan has actively promoted eye donation awareness, helping hundreds of people pledge to donate their eyes.

Dr. Gupta was an alumnus of Rishikul Ayurvedic College, Haridwar, and remained a strong advocate of education and rural development. As Chairman and Life Member of the management committees of C.D. Inter College, Haldaur, and Chandramani Bal Vikas Kendra, Haldaur, he worked tirelessly to improve educational opportunities and support underprivileged communities.

His funeral was held on Sunday at Poornanand Cremation Ground, Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh, following traditional Hindu rites.

Even in his final moments, Dr. Gupta chose to donate his eyes, enabling two individuals to receive the gift of sight. His decision stands as an inspiring reminder that organ and tissue donation can continue to transform lives even after death.

Doctors, educationists, social organizations, and prominent citizens paid heartfelt tributes to Dr. Kshemendra Gupta, remembering him as a compassionate physician and dedicated humanitarian. They also expressed their deepest condolences to Prof. Dr. Himanshu Airan and the bereaved family, praying for strength and peace during this difficult time.
