Eid Milad-un-Nabi Procession Conveys Message of Peace and Brotherhood in Dehradun

Dehradun: A grand Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession and religious gathering was organised in Dehradun, conveying a strong message of peace, communal harmony, brotherhood and humanity.

Addressing the gathering at the Municipal Corporation Hall, Peer Syed Ashraf Hussain Qadri, Naib Shahar Qazi (Ahle Sunnat) and State President of All India Muslim Jamaat, extended greetings to people across the world on the blessed occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

In his address, Peer Syed Ashraf Hussain Qadri emphasised that the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ represent a message of peace, mercy and harmony for all humanity. He urged people to celebrate Milad responsibly and ensure that all religious programmes remain within the framework of Islamic teachings and the law of the country.

He appealed to Muslims to demonstrate through their conduct that they follow the teachings of the Prophet of peace. He particularly urged the community to avoid any activity that could cause inconvenience to others and to stay away from unnecessary, objectionable or disruptive practices.

“People should remember that the personality whose birth is being celebrated is a mercy for all the worlds. Therefore, our actions should never become a source of difficulty or inconvenience for anyone,” he said.

 Procession Begins from GandhiGram

The Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession began at around 8 am from Gandhi Gram Ghosia Jama Masjid. The procession reached Patel Nagar, where Shri Azad Ali and Naib Shahar Qazi Peer Syed Ashraf Hussain Qadri jointly flagged it off.

The procession passed through Saharanpur Chowk, Gau Ghat, Railway Station, Prince Chowk, the District Court and Doon Hospital, before reaching the Municipal Corporation Hall.

The procession witnessed the participation of a large number of people carrying religious flags and expressing their devotion through Naat-e-Pak and salutations.

 Quran Recitation and Naat-e-Pak at the Gathering

The programme at the Municipal Corporation Hall began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Hafiz Shabab, Nisar Shah and Hafiz Arsh presented Naat-e-Pak, which deeply moved the gathering.

Addressing the audience, Maulana Mohammad Azam, Khatib and Imam of Gandhi Gram Ghosia Jama Masjid, said that celebrating the birth of the Prophet should inspire people to follow his teachings and example.

He said that true success lies in adopting the Prophet’s teachings in everyday life and making peace, compassion and good character an integral part of one’s conduct.

 Religious and Social Figures Honoured

During the programme, Professor Shahwez Malik and Professor Riyazuddin Siddiqui honoured Naib Shahar Qazi Syed Ashraf Hussain Qadri, Imtiaz Ahmed, Rashid Khan, Maulana Mohammad Azam and Gulfam Sheikh by presenting them with shawls.

At the conclusion of the gathering, Durood-o-Salam was offered standing in respect in the presence of the gathering. Fateha was also offered over food and sweets.

Peer Syed Ashraf Hussain Qadri then led prayers for peace, communal harmony, prosperity and progress in the country.

The programme concluded with the distribution of food, fruits and drinking water among the participants.

Among those who participated prominently in the procession and gathering were Shamim Khan, Nisar Shah, Amjad Ali, Imtiaz Ahmed, Riyasat Ali, Master Hashmat and Ali Ahmed Rehman, along with many other community members.

The event concluded with a collective emphasis on following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and strengthening peace, harmony and brotherhood in society.
