Death of elderly MP Shafiqur Rahman Burke who spoke openly

From Akhilesh Yadav to BSP supremo Mayawati expressed condolences

 

Sambhal – Senior Samajwadi Party leader and MP from Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, Shafiqur Rahman Burke passed away on Tuesday. He was 94 years old.

Shafiqur Rahman Burke was ill for a long time and was admitted to a hospital in Moradabad. Recently, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had also gone to the hospital to meet him. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party had made him its candidate from Sambhal. There has been a wave of mourning among SP workers after hearing the news of his demise. MPs always expressed their views openly on various issues. Many times his statements made a lot of headlines, but he had a different opinion on every issue, which he never hesitated in expressing. Be it issues related to the country or issues related to his own party SP. This is the reason why despite being an MP from the opposition party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised him.

It is noteworthy that SP MP Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Burke was one of the oldest leaders of the House. Burke has been MLA four times and MP 5 times. SP and BSP had formed an alliance in the 2019 elections, during which Burke had won the biggest victory from Sambhal seat of UP. He contested the Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 1996 on Samajwadi Party ticket and won it. At the same time, Shafiqur Rahman had won the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 by contesting the Modi wave on the BSP symbol.

Shafiqur Rahman Barq, who was in the news for his statements, was always vocal about the interests of Muslims. Shafiqur Rahman’s son is also an MLA on Samajwadi Party ticket.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati have expressed deep condolences on his demise. MIM party also expressed regret over his demise. State party president Shaukat Ali described his death as a big loss. Former Saharanpur MLA and senior Congress leader Imran Masood also expressed deep regret over the demise of elderly leader Shafiqurehman Barq and prayed for his forgiveness.
