Dehradun- With the inspiring address and official announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand have started with a colourful beginning from Tuesday evening.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony organized at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun on Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has become even more divine today with youth energy. The Prime Minister said that this year is also the 25th year of the formation of Uttarakhand, on this special occasion, thousands of youth from different parts of the country are going to show their strength in this young state. This shows a beautiful picture of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat here. The Prime Minister congratulated Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his team for the wonderful event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that now many sports competitions are being organized in the country throughout the year, many new tournaments have been added to the Khelo India Series. Due to the Khelo India Youth Games, young players have got a chance to move forward. Similarly, opportunities have also increased from University Games and Para Olympic Games. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that just a few days ago, the fifth edition of Khelo India Winter Games started in Ladakh. Beach games were also organised last year. Along with the government, BJP MPs are also promoting sports talent through MP funds. Giving the example of his parliamentary constituency, the Prime Minister said that every year about 2.5 lakh youth are getting a chance to play in the sports competitions being organised in Kashi parliamentary constituency alone.

The Prime Minister said that when a country progresses in sports, the country’s reputation and profile also increases. Therefore, the government is moving ahead by linking sports with development. He said that India is becoming the third largest economic power in the world, so the sports economy is also going to play an important role in this. Not only players but also the supporting staff and manufacturers are involved in this. He said that India is becoming a hub of sports material production. There are more than 35 thousand sports material manufacturing units in Meerut alone, where three lakh people are working.

The Prime Minister said that recently members of the Olympic team had come to meet him, during which a player told the new definition of PM, according to which players call the PM not Prime Minister but Param Mitra. The Prime Minister said that in ten years the sports budget has increased three times, hundreds of crores of rupees are being invested on dozens of players under the TOP scheme. Modern sports facilities are being developed across the country. The country’s first sports university is in Manipur. The effect of the government’s efforts is visible in the form of the medal table. Along with the country, players from Uttarakhand are also winning medals. The Prime Minister said that today the glorious days of hockey are returning. A few days ago, the Kho-Kho team won the World Cup. Now the youth are adopting sports as a major career.

The Prime Minister said that just as our players always move forward with big goals, our country is also moving forward with big resolve. That is why India is trying to host the Olympics in 2036. The Prime Minister said that wherever the Olympics are held, many sectors get a boost. Better facilities are created for the players. Similarly, the National Games will give many benefits to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

While formally starting the National Games, the Prime Minister said that although it is his responsibility, but he wants that all the people present in the stadium should support him by lighting the mobile flash light, on which the people present supported the Prime Minister by lighting the mobile flash light.

In his address, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and expressed gratitude to Uttarakhand for giving the responsibility of such an important national level sports event. He informed that this 17-day National Sports Mahakumbh is being organized in 11 cities of the state, in which more than 10 thousand players from all over the country are participating in 35 sports. Along with this, with the aim of giving the message of environmental protection, this time the National Games are being organized on the theme of Green Games. Along with the extensive use of solar energy in this event, efforts have also been made to minimize the use of plastic in the entire event. The Chief Minister said that under the able leadership of the Prime Minister, our country has geared up to establish itself as a developed nation by the year 2047. While on one hand India is progressing in social sectors like education, health, child development, women empowerment etc., on the other hand it is also moving ahead leaving behind the big countries of the world in the fields of science and technology, manufacturing, research and development etc. The Prime Minister has done the important work of achieving most of the big resolutions of the country like abolition of Article 370 from Kashmir, construction of a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya, implementation of CAA law, abolition of triple talaq etc. With the inspiration of the Prime Minister, winter travel has also been started in the state this year, which will promote tourism in the state on one hand and will also strengthen local employment and economy.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the resolution taken by the state government to implement the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand has been fulfilled. The UCC law has been implemented in the state from January 27. This historic task was impossible without the guidance of the Prime Minister.
