Number of women on important posts is large: Khanduri

Women who emerged as a source of inspiration were honored

Dehradun. International Women’s Day 2025 was organized by the regional office of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Uttarakhand. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan attended the program as the chief guest.

Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan told about her background that in the past women have dominated in her family, due to which she also got inspiration and the support received from the women of her family has contributed significantly to her current achievements. After she assumed office, the condition of women in her assembly constituency has improved a lot and the number of women on important posts is large, and women are also developing in Uttarakhand with time.

In the program, the Assembly Speaker honored women who have achieved various achievements in the fields of women empowerment and have emerged as a source of inspiration for other women. He also inaugurated the exhibition of products of women self help groups and producer organizations financed by NABARD.

Chief General Manager NABARD Pankaj Yadav said that the concept of Self Help Group by NABARD in 1992 was a historic step in the field of women development. At present about 1.44 crore Self Help Groups are active with which about 18 crore families are associated. The program was concluded by Nirmal Kumar, Deputy General Manager, NABARD by giving a vote of thanks.
