Dehradun (Amaanullah Usmani) Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of the new building of the Bar Association Dehradun in the judicial complex (old jail) Dehradun. The Chief Minister congratulated all the advocates on the foundation stone laying of the new chamber building and said that today is a very historic day. He said that under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the work of strengthening the judicial infrastructure is being done continuously in the entire country including Uttarakhand. In the last ten years, the Modi government has spent more than Rs 8000 crore for judicial infrastructure.

The Chief Minister said that the Central Government has removed all the laws of the British era and implemented new laws according to today’s new requirements. After the implementation of these laws, the concept of justice will get even stronger. He said that under the new laws, electronic and digital records have also been recognized as strong evidence, which is important in today’s time of digital revolution. This will help all the advocates to present their side in the court easily. The Chief Minister said that similarly the state government is committed to strengthen all the justice related infrastructure in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the demand for the chamber building of Dehradun Bar Association was also going on for a long time, in this regard, the officials of All India Advocates Council met the Bar Association and demanded land for the new building. The Chief Minister said that more than five and a half thousand people are working here. Therefore, understanding the problems of all, it was decided to give five bighas of land to the Bar Association Dehradun. He said that I am happy that a nine-storey building with 1500 chambers, an auditorium, library, canteen, parking will be constructed on this land. He said that every possible support will be given for the construction of this building.

The Chief Minister said that apart from the anti-copying law, the state government has implemented laws like conversion law, anti-riot law etc. With their implementation, Uttarakhand has been recognized across the country as a disciplined state with zero tolerance towards crime. He said that Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in the state before 09 November 2024.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Premchand Agarwal, MLA Khajan Das, Vinod Chamoli, Umesh Sharma Kau, Mrs. Savita Kapoor, District Judge Prem Singh Khimal, Bar Association Dehradun President Rajiv Sharma, Secretary Rajveer Singh Bisht and advocates were present.
