Eligible individuals from minority communities should also benefit from the schemes! – Farzana

No delay in issuing minority certificates. – Farzana

Bhimtal – Farzana Begum, Vice Chairperson of the Minority Welfare Commission, visited the Vikas Bhawan (Development Building) and reviewed the schemes being implemented for minority welfare, department-wise.

She said that according to the commitments of the Minority Commission, the welfare of the minority community and qualitative improvement in their standard of living is of the highest priority. She said that efforts should be made for the economic, social, and educational upliftment of the minority community through various development schemes, in which assistance for education, poverty alleviation, skill development, and self-employment should be provided on a priority basis.

During the review of the Revenue Department, she instructed that minority certificates be issued on a priority basis. She clearly instructed that if the commission receives any complaint against those who unnecessarily delay or refuse to issue minority certificates, strict action will be taken by the commission. She directed that eligible minority individuals should also be given priority in benefiting from the public welfare schemes run by the Central and State Governments. Expressing displeasure over some department officials not providing data in the prescribed format, she instructed that the data be provided to the commission via email by Monday.

She instructed all the officers that the government’s aim is that the public should not be troubled and that public problems should be resolved on a priority basis, and that the public should receive the benefits of the schemes on time and easily.

The Commission’s Secretary, JS Rawat, said that all aspects related to whether or not minorities are benefiting from the schemes run by 30 departments will be included in the commission’s annual report.

During the review of departments such as Minority Welfare, Education, Social Welfare, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Child Development, Medical, Police, Supply, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, etc., the Vice Chairperson of the Commission, Farzana Begum, gave important guidelines to the concerned officers regarding benefiting minorities under various schemes. All departments in the district participated in the meeting and provided important information related to the Minority Commission.

The Employment Department issued employment certificates to 111 youth from the minority community. The Women’s Welfare Department provided 689 pensions and 245 pensions to divorced women. The District Industries Department provided benefits to 6 people under the self-employment scheme. The Labor Department registered 400 laborers. The Tourism Department received several applications under the homestay scheme. The Social Welfare Department provided benefits to 272 meritorious girls from the minority community for their education under the scheme. The concerned officers were also instructed to provide a list of benefits provided to minorities under various schemes by different departments by Monday.

The meeting was attended by Commission members Surendra Jain, Nafis Ahmed, Yeshi Thupten, Shakeel Ahmed, Mohammad Taslim, District Development Officer Gopal Giri Goswami, District Panchayat Raj Officer Suresh Beni, District Program Officer Suresh Beni, and officers from the concerned departments.
