Dehradun (Amaanullah Usmani) BJP has released the second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. The central leadership today surprised Uttarakhand by removing the suspense on Haridwar and Garhwal seats by announcing the candidates. It was being said that the party could experiment on these two seats. Even so, after eliminating two former Chief Ministers, BJP has placed its bet on former MP and party’s national media head Anil Baluni from Pauri Garhwal seat and former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat from Haridwar. Anil Baluni is also considered close to PM Modi. At the same time, till now former CM Tirath Singh Rawat is the MP from Garhwal seat and former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank is the MP from Haridwar. At the same time, after leaving the Chief Minister’s chair, Trivendra was waiting for a political opportunity. According to political experts, he will have a chance to return from political exile in the Lok Sabha elections.
Let us tell you that in the first list, BJP had declared candidates from Tehri Garhwal, Nainital and Almora Lok Sabha seats. Candidates were repeated on all these three seats. Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah has been made candidate from Tehri Garhwal seat, Ajay Bhatt from Nainital seat and Ajay Tamta from Almora seat.
Let us tell you that there are five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand. This time BJP wants to make a hat-trick by winning all five seats. At the same time, Congress has announced candidates for only three seats.
BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt said that the party has fielded candidates on all five seats. BJP will win the elections with an overwhelming majority. Anil Baluni, who has done many public interest works including giving a new identity to Lok Parv Egas, stopping migration, running new trains, is a candidate from Garhwal seat. As Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat has the credit for carrying out many major works of public welfare. He has been made the candidate from Haridwar. I wish all the best to both the candidates.
At the same time, former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed his gratitude to the party president, Home Minister Shah and PM Modi for being declared the Lok Sabha candidate from Haridwar. While tweeting, he wrote that I have a close relationship with Haridwar, the gateway to Mother Ganga. The people of Doiwala Assembly of this Lok Sabha took me to the MLA, Minister and Chief Minister. His love has always been with me and I too never let his trust be broken and performed my duties like a public servant for years with complete honesty and transparency, so that he never had to bow down because of me.
Trivendra Singh Rawat’s political journey started in 1979. In the same year, Trivendra Singh joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. In 1981 he resolved to work as a Sangh pracharak. In 1985, Trivendra Singh Rawat became the campaigner of Dehradun metropolis. After this, in 1993, he became the Regional Organization Minister of BJP. During this period he played an important role in the party. After this, in 1997, Trivendra Singh Rawat became the General Secretary of BJP State Organization. In the year 2002, he again became the General Secretary of BJP State Organization.
In 2002, he contested elections from Doiwala Assembly. He had won from Doiwala seat in the assembly elections. In 2007, he was elected as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate to the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly from Doiwala Assembly constituency. Became a cabinet minister in the cabinet of Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2017, he was elected to the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly from Doiwala Assembly constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. After this, on March 17, 2017, he was given the command of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. After this, he resigned from the post of CM in March 2021.
