Former Roorkee BJP MLA cheated of Rs 50 lakhs
Roorkee – An acquaintance of former Roorkee BJP MLA embezzled money worth lakhs of rupees. The police have registered a case against the accused under various sections including conspiracy and cheating. In fact, since the matter is related to a former MLA, the police officials have registered the case and also intensified the investigation.
In fact, former BJP MLA Suresh Chand Jain gave a complaint to Roorkee Civil Line Kotwali saying that he needed four bighas of land for a deaf and mute school. Acquaintance Adarsh brothers alias Adarsh Yadav, son of Baburam Yadav, resident of Olive County, Vasundhara District, Ghaziabad, had shown four bighas of land near Sherpur. When he liked the land, the deal to buy it was fixed for Rs 2 crore. It is alleged that the acquaintance had told that the said land belonged to Abhav Singh. During the meeting, the acquaintance had arranged for a person to meet by pretending to be a fake land owner and had taken Rs 50 lakh as token money. After which when he went to get the construction work done on the said land, he found that the actual owner of the land was someone else. Only then did the case of land fraud come to light. According to the former MLA, lakhs of rupees were given in the month of May for the necessary documents of the land. When protesting against the fraud, the acquaintance sent fake screenshots and asked to deposit the money in the account. Due to increasing opposition and pressure, on August 3, the acquaintance had also deposited fifty thousand rupees in the account. But the remaining amount has not been returned till date. Inspector RK Saklani said that a case has been registered against the accused under various charges including conspiracy and cheating.
