Questions raised on Narsan police after two incidents in three days
Golden Times
Mangalore (Akil Ahmed) The Kanwar Yatra is starting from July 11. But reports of ruckus by Kanwariyas are already coming to the fore. Three days ago, Gulfaam came out after scanning the barcode at Gupta Chaat Bhandar in Narsan. This caused a lot of ruckus. After that, a family travelling in a car on the highway in Mangalore was beaten up by Kanwariyas and the car was also vandalized. On Monday, Kanwariyas created a ruckus after onions were found in the food at a dhaba in Narsan. The police reached the spot and pacified the matter. Now the question arises that why the dhaba owners are not following the guidelines given by the police in Narsan. However, in Mangalore town, Mangalore police had visited the dhabas and scanned their barcodes and had instructed the dhaba owners to follow the guidelines given by the administration during the Kavad Yatra. After two incidents in three days, it is natural to raise questions on the Narsan police. The negligence of the Narsan police may prove costly for the Kavad Yatra. However, Narsan outpost in-charge Hemdat Bhardwaj says that the dhaba owner had already been given notice and now action is being taken against him.
