We respect all religious leaders, disrespect of Prophet will not be tolerated: Mufti Rais
Dehradun (Amaanullah Usmani) Angry at the lack of strict action against Ramgiri of Maharashtra for making inappropriate and indecent comments on Prophet Muhammad SAW, the Muslims of Dehradun held a huge sit-in demonstration on Sunday under the leadership of Shahar Qazi Dehradun Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Qasmi and demanded that a law like blasphemy be made in India and strict legal action be taken against those who disrespect the Prophet.
On Sunday, a rally titled Shan-e-Risalat was organised at Parade Ground under the leadership of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Tanzeem Aima-e-Masjid and Muslim Seva Sangathan, which was presided over by Shahar Qazi Dehradun. Addressing the rally, Jamiat District President Mufti Rais Qasmi said that we respect all religions and their religious leaders and look up to them with respect, but we can never tolerate that someone disrespects our Prophet or uses abusive language against him.
A person from Maharashtra, Ramgiri, has insulted the Prophet, which will not be tolerated. We demand from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde that strict action should be taken against this person as soon as possible. Muslim Seva Sangathan President Naeem Qureshi said that the way a frustrated effort is being made to defame Islam in a phased manner, every other day someone makes inappropriate/indecent comments on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to gain cheap popularity, it seems to be a part of some conspiracy. Through this gathering, we demand from the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi that such a law of blasphemy should be brought in the country so that no person can dare to speak ill about any religion and its great men.
Vice President of Muslim Seva Sangathan, Aqib Qureshi said that love for the Prophet runs in our veins. We can tolerate everything but cannot tolerate any insult to the Prophet. On this occasion, Advocate Javed Khan said that the Muslims of India love their country and are tolerant but this does not mean that they will tolerate the insult of their Prophet. If action is not taken against Ramgiri and the law of blasphemy is not brought, then we will call for a march to Delhi by joining various non-political organizations, scholars, secular people.
Asif Hussain said that in Maharashtra, a person named Ramgiri Maharaj has made an indecent comment on the messenger of God. Due to which there is anger in the Muslim community. Insulting the Prophet will never be tolerated.
He said that Muslims will give their lives but will not tolerate the insult of the Prophet. He said that despite the opposition of the Muslim community, the Maharashtra government has not yet taken any action against Hari giri Maharaj. This shows that the government is indirectly helping such people.
