Maulana Mufti Hashim Ahmed Siddiqui to be appointed Shahar Qazi of Doon

Dehradun. Following the passing of Mohammad Ahmed Qasmi, Maulana Mufti Hashim Ahmed Siddiqui has been appointed the new Shahar Qazi of Doon. The Jama Masjid Committee of Paltan Bazaar announced this after Friday prayers and crowned the Shahar Qazi. This year, a wave of joy spread across the city, while on the other hand, some people have also begun protesting against the new Shahar Qazi.

It is worth noting that Shahar Qazi Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Qasmi passed away on November 22nd. After Friday prayers, the Jama Masjid Committee of Paltan Bazaar announced Maulana Mufti Hashim Siddiqui as the Shahar Qazi, Imam of the Jama Masjid and Eidgah Bindal Pul, and crowned him. Committee Chairman Naseem Ahmed stated that based on the input of worshippers, scholars, and responsible individuals, the committee has announced the appointment of Mufti Hashim Siddiqui as Shahar Qazi and Imam. He is an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband. Mufti Hashim Siddiqui, the new Shahar Qazi, stated that any decisions that favor Muslims will be taken. Several organizations, including individuals, congratulated him on becoming the new Shahar Qazi.

The Waqf Board has objected to the appointment of the new Shahar Qazi by the Jama Masjid Paltan Bazaar Committee in Dehradun. Those protesting claim that the term of the Shahar Qazi, who announced the appointment, expired in 2021. They allege that most of the city’s scholars were not consulted.
