Shabana Azmi expressed concern over the incidents happening with women
Mumbai (Shibli Rampuri) Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi expressed deep concern over the way one incident after another is happening with women. Famous Bollywood actress and social worker Shabana Azmi said that the discrimination that happens with women and the cases of atrocities on them that keep coming up every day can only be completely stopped when there is a change in the mentality that still considers women as second class or say that they are inferior.
While addressing a program organized in Pune, Shabana Azmi said that nothing is going to happen just by talking about giving equal rights to women. Till the time women do not get the real respect and their rights, they cannot become fully self-reliant. She said that along with the government, it is the duty of all social organizations and every person to do everything possible in the interest of women.
The 2024 Roundtable Conference, a prestigious event organised by Gravitas Foundation in collaboration with UNICEF, addressed the urgent and necessary topic of Early Childhood Development (ECD) with none other than Shabana Azmi sharing her views. The conference served as an important platform to discuss the importance of nurturing the youngest minds, especially during the crucial first 1000 days of life, when brain development is at its peak.
Among the eminent dignitaries who attended the event were renowned actress Shabana Azmi, who has been a strong voice on social issues, Dr. Medha Kulkarni, Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha and Suraj Mandhare, Commissioner of Education in Pune. They were accompanied by renowned paediatrician and neonatologist Dr. Amita Phadnis, former National President of Indian Academy of Paediatrics Dr. Pramod Jog and actress Tanishaa Mukherjee, who is committed to advocacy.
