The wait for civic elections in Uttarakhand is over, civic election notification will be issued on November 10

The wait that started after the OBC reservation matter went to the Select Committee before the civic elections in Uttarakhand has been over for the time being with the new timetable of the government. Now civic elections will be held in December. Accordingly, the State Election Commission has also intensified preparations. Earlier, the government had filed a timetable for civic elections in the High Court in October. Accordingly, preparations were also going on, but the OBC reservation amendment bill presented in the assembly was sent to the Select Committee. This created doubt over the date of civic elections. The Select Committee has to submit its report by September 23.

Meanwhile, the notification for delimitation of various bodies has been issued. Accordingly, the State Election Commission has intensified preparations. The work of voter list revision has started in these bodies according to delimitation.

The commission will complete this work by October 31. After this, the notification for civic elections will be issued on November 10. After nomination and all other election formalities, municipal elections will be held in the state between December 15 and 20.
