Mangalore (Akil Ahmed) On the occasion of the first death anniversary of senior journalist Dr. Firoz Akhtar, who was a man of simple nature, local journalists, social organizations and his family paid him emotional tribute at his residence on Monday.
Last year, senior journalist Firoz Akhtar died after a long illness in a hospital in Dehradun. On the occasion of his first death anniversary, journalists and local people of Mangalore organized a memorial meeting. In which his life, works and his dedication towards the society were remembered. A tribute meeting was organized at his residence in Mohalla Pathanpura, Mangalore. Dr. Akhtar was not only a skilled journalist, but also a courageous personality who raised the voice of the weaker sections of the society. His writings always reflected truth and impartiality, which established him as a respected journalist in Mangalore and surrounding areas. Dr. Firoz Akhtar was a well-known name in the journalism world of Mangalore. He worked for many newspapers and magazines in his life and was known for his frank opinion on social issues. His writings focused on topics like social problems, education, health and community development. Remembering his father, his son Hussain Akhtar said, father always inspired us to follow the path of truth and hard work. On his death anniversary, we pledge to follow the path shown by him. On this occasion, journalists Mukesh Goyal, Aqeel Ahmed, Arvind Goyal, Rais Ahmed, Shamim Ahmed along with Hasnain Zaidi, Sibte, Hussain Akhtar and others were present.
