Mangalore Assembly seat has become vacant after the death of Haji Sarwat Karim Ansari, who was a BSP MLA in Mangalore Assembly. Regarding the by-election, Congress has already declared Qazi Nizamuddin as the candidate in the by-election. Meanwhile, Monty, son of Haji Sarwat Karim Ansari from BSP, has been announced to contest the elections. Whereas BJP is busy brainstorming to field its candidate for the by-election in Mangalore Assembly.
However, the state government has not yet taken any decision regarding the Mangalore by-election. There is talk of holding by-elections along with the Lok Sabha elections. However, till now BJP has not been able to register its victory on Mangalore Assembly seat. In this by-election, BJP will leave no stone unturned in hoisting the BJP flag on this seat by fielding a strong candidate to remove the drought from its seat. From the very beginning, the results of the Mangalore assembly seat have been win-win between the candidates of both BSP and Congress parties. But this time after the death of Haji Sarwat Karim Ansari, one of the prominent leaders of BSP, BJP will try its best to win this seat. In a meeting held at Mangalore BSP office, supporters of Haji Sarwat Karim Ansari have elected Ubaidur Rahman Monty as their leader. All the supporters have unitedly decided to let Monty contest the elections and the same supporters have also expressed hope that this time the seat will go to BSP.
