Advocate Alleges Assault, Confinement and Threats at Office in Dehradun

More Than Half a Dozen People Named in Complaint; Alleged Demands for Lakhs of Rupees, Police Complaint Filed at Patel Nagar Police Station

Dehradun: A serious incident has been reported from the Patel Nagar area of Dehradun, where an advocate has alleged that several people entered his office, allegedly behaved abusively, confined him and his son for nearly two hours, and issued threats to their lives and property.

Advocate Mohammad Musa Khan submitted a written complaint at Patel Nagar Police Station on August 21, 2026, seeking legal action against the persons named in his complaint and protection for himself and his family.

According to the complaint, at around 7:20 PM on August 20, a person contacted the advocate on his mobile phone and introduced himself as Talim Hasan. The complainant alleges that shortly afterwards, Talim Hasan arrived at his office in Kailashpur, Mehuwala Mafi, along with As Mohammad, Ghalib, Munir and others.

The advocate has alleged that the group entered his office and behaved abusively with him before allegedly throwing office belongings around. He further claimed that he and his son, Suhail, were confined inside the office for approximately two hours.

The complaint alleges that the group demanded ₹5 lakh, while a demand of ₹10 lakh was allegedly made by the mother of As Mohammad. The advocate also alleged that he was threatened with serious consequences and warned that false cases could be filed against him.

According to the complainant, people from the surrounding area reached the spot after hearing the commotion and helped get the office opened. He stated that he subsequently called the police emergency number at around 9:20 PM seeking assistance. However, according to his complaint, the persons involved had left the location by the time police assistance arrived.

The advocate has further expressed apprehension that the accused persons are influential and have criminal tendencies, and that he and his family could face a threat to their lives, property and safety.

He has requested the Patel Nagar police to provide protection to him and his family and take appropriate legal action on the basis of his complaint.
