Grand Kalash Yatra Held in Jhabreda to Mark 650th Birth Anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas

 Holy Soil from Guru Ravidas’s Birthplace Sent to 18 Mandals of Roorkee District Under Samaras Sankalp Abhiyan

Jhabreda, Haridwar: A grand Kalash Yatra and commemorative programme were organised in Jhabreda on the auspicious occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji under the “Samaras Sankalp Abhiyan – Faith in Harmony, Our Guru Ravidas” initiative.

The Kalash Yatra began from the office of Deshraj Karnwal, State Minister, at Bhagtowali, Jhabreda. The procession then reached the Guru Ravidas Temple at Shiv Chowk, where the sacred Kalash was ceremonially worshipped. Devotees and participants subsequently proceeded with the Kalash to Dev Farm House, Jhabreda, where the main programme was held.

A special feature of the programme was the distribution of sacred soil brought from the birthplace of Guru Ravidas Ji to all 18 mandals of Roorkee district through the respective mandal presidents. The initiative aims to carry the message of Guru Ravidas Ji—equality, social harmony, humanity and brotherhood—to people across the district.

Cabinet Minister Khajan Das attended the programme as the chief guest, while Baldeer Ghuniyaal, State President of the Scheduled Caste Morcha, was also present. A large number of devotees, public representatives, BJP workers and local residents participated in the event.

Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted the enduring relevance of Guru Ravidas Ji’s teachings on equality, humanity, brotherhood and social harmony. They said his message continues to inspire society to rise above discrimination and work towards a more equal and harmonious social order.

Participants also took a pledge to follow the ideals of Guru Ravidas Ji and strengthen the values of social harmony, mutual respect and equality.

The programme concluded with chants in praise of Guru Ravidas Ji and a collective resolve to follow the path shown by the revered saint.
