Chief Minister honored meritorious girls on National Girl Child Day

Topper 318 girls were awarded under ‘Incentive for Education of Meritorious Girls’

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored meritorious girls under the ‘Meritorious Girls Education Promotion’ program at the Chief Servant Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. At the district level, the girls who secured first three positions in intermediate and high school from each district and the girls who secured first position at the development block level were rewarded with certificates and smart phones. On National Girl Child Day, 318 topper girls of the year 2022 and 2023 were awarded. On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched the ‘Parivartan Portal’ of the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department and also presented a replica of Chandrayaan to the girls of Balika Niketan, Dehradun.

The Chief Minister has wished all the daughters of the state on National Girl Child Day and wished for their bright future. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many efforts are being made by the Central and State Governments towards women empowerment. The government is fully committed to the safety of all its daughters in the state. Those who commit injustice to our daughters have no place in Uttarakhand and our society. He said that as the chief servant of the state, insulting any daughter of the state is an insult to him. They will never shy away from taking the strictest action against those who do so. He said that our daughters are our pride, honor and pride. Starting from the great brave woman Teelu Rauteli, there are many such names in the list of brave women of our state till Tincheri Mai, Gaura Devi, Chandraprabha Aitwal, Gangotri Garbyal and Bachendri Pal ji, who proved every challenge small and proved their worth by breaking the evil practices and self-defeating. Has shown the society the way to live life with respect. Taking the same tradition forward, today our daughters have made a mark for themselves in every field and have brought glory to the state.

The Chief Minister said that various schemes launched by the Central and State Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are helping in making our daughters more self-reliant and empowered. The state government has recently decided to give 30 percent reservation to women in government jobs. Earlier, struggle was the second name of the life of daughters in the mountains, but now the scene is changing and the daughters of our marginal villages are also realizing their dreams. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, following the basic mantra of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, the state government has also started various schemes for the birth of daughters till their education, health and skill development, including Mahalakshmi Kit Scheme, Happiness Scheme. Schemes like Sawari Yojana, Nanda Gaura Yojana, Mukhyamantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana, Mukhyamantri Mahila Poshan Yojana are included. He said that it is the effort of the state government that every daughter of Uttarakhand should be empowered, strong and an equal partner in the overall development of the state. He said that he will always be with the daughters of the state like a guardian.

Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Smt. Rekha Arya, while congratulating all the girls who received the awards, said that today people’s attitude towards girls is changing. Today daughters are no less than boys in any field. He said that continuous efforts are being made by the Central and State Governments to make daughters self-reliant and self-reliant. He said that daughters are setting new records in every field. He said that Girls Sports College is being opened in Lohaghat.

On this occasion, Secretary Women Empowerment and Child Development Hari Chandra Semwal, Director Women Empowerment and Child Development Prashant Arya, Chief Probation Officer Mohit Chaudhary and parents of meritorious girls were present.
