MP Imran Masood will raise his voice in the interest of journalists

Saharanpur (Shibli Rampuri) Senior Congress leader and Saharanpur MP Imran Masood said that he will raise his voice for the welfare of journalists and will make every possible effort for whatever is better for the journalists.Saharanpur MP Imran Masood said that he will bring a private member bill in the Lok Sabha to make a law related to the safety of journalists, so that the media journalists of the country can do their work without fear. MP Imran Masood was addressing his welcome and felicitation ceremony organized at the residence of District Press Club’s chief patron Javed Sabri at Chakrota Road here today as the chief guest.He said that today journalists are being constantly attacked in the country and efforts are being made to suppress the media. He said that he will bring a private member bill in the Lok Sabha so that the attention of the whole country can be drawn towards this and issues like security, pension etc. of journalists can be resolved. Regarding the Wakf Board Amendment Bill presented in the Parliament, Shri Masood said that the intention of the Central Government on the Wakf Board is not clear. The Wakf Act was made in 1906 and it was amended in 1955. He said that after the Army and the Railways, the Wakf Board has the maximum property in the country. He said that the Sachchar Commission report also states that the income of the Wakf Board from the rent of its property is estimated to be only Rs. 12 crores, which is currently Rs. 50 crores. He said that if work is done honestly, then the widows and poor children of the Muslim community will not need any help from the government. Condemning the incident of the government bulldozing a building in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, he said that the Congress will not tolerate the bulldozer culture under any circumstances and will sound the bugle of agitation against it.

Imran Masood also announced to provide financial assistance to seriously ill people from the Prime Minister/Chief Minister Relief Fund and to listen to the problems of the people twice every month in Deoband and Behat.

In the program, the office bearers of the District Press Club, under the leadership of Chief Patron Javed Sabri, District President Surendra Chauhan and Convenor Abu Bakar Shibli, honored MP Imran Masood by presenting him a shawl and a souvenir.

During this, the patrons of the club M. Riaz Hashmi, Kumar Yogesh, Dr. Shahid Zubairi, General Secretary Sudhir Sohal etc. were mainly present.
