Flag Hoisted at Uttarakhand Congress Headquarters on Independence Day

Dehradun (Amaanullah Usmani): On the occasion of Independence Day, the national flag was hoisted at the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters in Dehradun by Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, Chairman of the State Congress Election Management Committee and former minister.

Paying tribute to the great freedom fighters who sacrificed everything for the country’s independence, Dr. Rawat said that the freedom and democratic environment in which we breathe today is the result of the sacrifices, struggles and dedication of those great freedom fighters.

Dr. Harak Singh Rawat highlighted the significant contribution of the brave sons and martyrs of Uttarakhand to India’s freedom movement. He paid his respects to all the martyrs and freedom fighters of Uttarakhand and said that their sacrifices can never be forgotten.

Targeting the BJP governments at the Centre and in Uttarakhand, Dr. Rawat alleged that attempts are being made to weaken the history of India’s freedom struggle and undermine the contributions of freedom fighters.

Several senior Congress leaders and workers were present on the occasion, including Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary (Organisation) Rajendra Singh Bhandari, Vice Presidents Lalchand Sharma and Darshan Lal, Dehradun Mahanagar Congress President Jaswinder Singh Gogi, General Secretary Rajendra Shah, Amarjeet Singh, Chief Spokesperson Garima Dasauni, Suryakant Dhasmana, Madan Lal, Naveen Joshi, Hema Purohit, Amendra Bisht, Yashpal Chauhan, Pratima Singh, Sunita Prakash, Poonam Singh, Dimple Singh, Manmohan Sharma, Gopal Singh Gadia, Yaqub Siddiqui, Lakhir Ram Bijalwan, Devendra Singh, Savitri Thapa and Sushil Dobhal, among others.
